SOFIA
One of the dreaded “Lower St-Laurent Restaurants” populated weekends by Westmount trust fund kids, car dealership owners from the South Shore and the women who love them. Sofia serves a mish mash of Italian, international and fusion cuisine. Prices are high sometimes because expensive ingredients are used and sometime just-because but the execution is usually terrible (you have about a 1-in-5 chance of getting a dish that actually works). The bimbo/mimbo quotient of the wait staff is through the roof and the whole restaurant turns into Saturday Night Fever after 10 p.m. with lonely corporate lawyer types drinking Grey Goose and e-mailing each other on their Blackberries.
