NEWTOWN
Jacque Villeneuve's (yes, the former F1 race car driver...don't worry he doesn't do any of the cooking) bar/ club/ restaurant is located on the cheesiest strip in Montreal. The second floor restaurant serves ostensibly Mediterranean-inspired cuisine that, although it is really a mish-mash of world food, is surprisingly well done. The decor is modern, airy and well done but the atmosphere is really not my bag. Lots of lonely old men, a smattering of escappes from Goodfellas and a pinch of jailbait eye candy. My advice to anyone visiting Montreal is to avoid Crescent Street altogether. Sorry Jacques.
