RESTAURANT THAILANDE

This is a recommendation I can only give under duress, as there aren’t any Thai restaurants in Montreal that I actually like. I do like Thai food though, and every hankering I get leads me to try the next recommended spot, each of which inevitably fails to please. Chao Phraya, Phayathai and Mai Thai are moderately priced places I would not want to eat at again. Thai Grill and Red Thai are more upscale but the food isn’t better so I don’t see the point. In fairness, I have not eaten at most of these places more than once (although I may have to run through again soon as I’m running out of new prospects). Restaurant Thailande wins by virtue of having made one dish I really loved (the pad kee mao) and being a pretty good value but the search for great Thai continues.
