LE LATINI
Lauded as one of Montreal's top Italian eateries, Le Latini, whose risotto and tiramisu are often discussed reverentially, has been a Northern Italian mainstay for many years and also boasts one of the top wine cellars in the city. The food may sometimes not live up to its reputation, but when they get it right it can be quite good. Sadly, at the prices they charge, they don't get it right frequently enough and the sometimes erratic service only adds to the impression that eating here is not a value proposition. Bottom line, you can eat just as well and likely better at a number of Italian eateries in the city for less. My last visit was particularly unimpressive and I don't see myself having another meal here again on my own dime.
