DA EMMA
Famously housed in the basement of a former women's prison in Old Montreal, Da Emma's Italian cuisine is rustic and authentic. Although Da Emma has come to be regarded as one of the top Italian restaurants in the city, my only visit was very hit and miss with a greyish tomato salad and lemon sorbet monstrosity bookending a fantastic oven baked tuna steak. But the JJ, along with a host of other diners, like it so much that I am reserving judgment until my next visit.
