AU 917
One of the lesser lights on the Montreal BYOW scene, the key advantage of 917 is that you can usually rustle up a table here on short notice on a Friday or Saturday. Serving the standard French bistro offerings (escargots, duck confit, steak au poivre, kidneys in mustard sauce etc...) most everything that comes out of the kitchen from the bread to the desserts is allright but not exceptional. Nonetheless, if you are with a big group or are having trouble getting a last minute BYOW reservation, Au 917 is a worthy stand-in. I prefer Le Flambard just a few doors down though...
